Greetings from Rwanda Africa.

From 21^st of October till the 18^th of November 2008 I will be here in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, to help people who are less privileged.
 

The Foundation Faith Hope And Love; “Stichting Geloof Hoop En Liefde” in Holland has founded “Association Hope” here in Rwanda. Here I help out with technical, computer and video work. The videos will be ready visible on the website in December. GeloofHoopEnLiefdeRwanda.nl

The Sewing School; “Association Hope” helps the youth by giving them an education in sewing. They learn how to draw patterns on size, reproduce them to their own model, adjusting it to person and figure. They learn a lot of finishing techniques and how to in a simple and beautiful way make clothes and giving them the finishing touch. After the school year the graduated even get their own sewing machine with a small starting capital to take home with them where they themselves can immediately start their own business and make money from their home. Some even form a group and rent a building from where they can work together.

The youth here needs “Hope”. The genocide of 1994 has left deep wounds which are still felt especially in the youth who were children at that time. The school brings the Word of God to the youth with Bible studies, worship and prayer meetings as part of the program to encourage them with the love of Jesus Christ.

All students of the Sewing School are very happy with the opportunity to be able to do this school for a year and to have a professional future in this profession.

Do you remember the news of 1994? In April 1994 more than half a million people, of which also women and children, were horribly slaughtered with machetes and sticks, often by their own neighbors. It is difficult to comprehend the scale of the bloodshed and the resulting chaos, even more when all of this took place within only a few weeks. Neighbors, who were butchering each other, without the use of modern weapons. The result was a sad account of approximately one million orphans and a lot of old people, who survived without any form of income. As there are many widows, because many young men fought in the war and lost their lives. A lot of young women and girls were raped and were left with unwanted children.

The people here are much honored that we come here out of Europe to visit them and above all to help them.
